Currently, the release date of the second season is not yet confirmed, but we can expect to see it this Winter of 2024.

Studio CloverWorks, which brought to you Spy x Family, Horimiya, The Promised Neverland, and many more, is presently producing Season 2.

The season 2 Trailer uploaded by Aniplex was also mentioned on the official site, which confirms that the video is indeed the trailer for the second season.

In the video, we get to see Marin blushing profusely not once, not twice, but four times!

This probably means that Wakana is going to make his advancements on her soon.

My Dress-Up Darling Story So Far

My Dress-Up Darling’s Story follows a high schooler named Wakana, who’s obsessed with hinamatsuri dolls.

Hina dolls are basically customizable dolls you can dress up to your liking as part of a Japanese tradition.

He was called a freak by a girl when he was just a kid for liking them, so up to the present time, he kept his admiration for them a secret.

One day, while he was using the school’s sewing machine to create clothes for a hina doll, he was seen by Marin.

At first, he got embarrassed, but Marin was fascinated and impressed at how well Wakana used the sewing machine to craft clothing.

This sparked an idea, which involved Wakana making Marin some cosplay costumes for an upcoming event.

Both of them bonded well and even went shopping together for the materials.

With a few days left before the event, Marin didn’t expect Wakana to finish the costume, as she wasn’t really planning on going to the event.

But after trying out the costume, Marin changed her mind due to how well it was made.

During the event, her cosplay attracted a lot of attention, which eventually also got the attention of a famous cosplayer named Sajuna.

Sajuna visited Wakana’s home to convince him to create a cosplay for her, seeing how well he made the cosplay for Marin.

Wakana agreed with the condition of Marin doing a group cosplay with them.

Now, all that’s left is a good photographer.

Sajuna recommended they get her younger sister, Shinju, to be the photographer.

This is because Shinju was the one in charge of Sajuna’s photos online, so she has both the skill and experience of a great photographer.

After meeting with Shinju, Wakana convinced her to cosplay a character she always wanted to cosplay but never had the body type for it.

With that, the group cosplay was a success!

That night, Wakana and Marin had a video call, to which Wakana unexpectedly slept due to exhaustion, with Season 1 ending as Marin said “I love you” to a sleeping Wakana.

My Dress-Up Darling Season 2 What To Expect

We can expect some romance blossoming for Season 2 after that Season 1 ending.

We can also expect to see more cosplayers like Amane, a guy who likes cosplaying as girls.

This becomes a problem for Wakana because it’s gonna be his first time trying to gender-bend a guy into a girl!

They’ll also get to meet Akira, a woman in her early 20s who Wakana and Marin initially thought was a man!

There’s probably a lot of gender-bending for the new season.
