Where can I find my Client's Care Plan?

On the DirectMyCare web portal.

Step 1: Sign in to your DirectMyCare web portal account.

Step 2: Click the Client Documents button from the home page.

Step 3: Click the blue ‘Document Name’ link to open the document. If you work for more than one client, use the dropdown to select your Client’s name.

How is my hourly pay rate determined by Consumer Direct Care Network Washington (CDWA)?

Who manages the hours I work as an IP?

Client(s) or their Authorized Representative manage IP schedules and hours worked. IPs are responsible for monitoring and staying within their Work Week Limit (WWL) and the Client’s monthly authorized amount.

How do I submit my hours worked?

How do IPs update their personal information such as name, address, or phone number?

Where can I find out about my training requirements?

Will I be able to use Carina.org to find additional work?

IPs and Clients can use Carina.org to find more work or available IPs.

How do IPs submit a resignation?

You should discuss your resignation with your Client(s) first. A two-week notice is recommended. If you wish to stop providing services to a particular Client but remain an employee of CDWA, contact CDWA with this information.

If you wish to stop being an IP, follow the steps in the resignation guide. You will no longer be employed with CDWA.

What medical benefits do IPs have with CDWA?

Eligibility criteria and plan options for healthcare coverage and health programs are through SEIU 775 Benefits Group. SEIU 775 Benefits Group provides communications related to your healthcare benefits. For more information, please call 1-877-606-6705 or visitmyseiu.be/health-my-plan.

What, if any, are the advancement opportunities available to an IP?

Eligible IPs may have the opportunity to receive the Advanced Home Care Aide Specialist (AHCAS) Certification. Eligibility is determined by the Cumulative Career Hours (CCH) IPs have worked, as well as the level of care that their Client needs. IPs with an AHCAS Certification qualify for a higher rate of pay.

Does CDWA handle workers’ compensation for IPs who are injured on the job?

Yes. CDWA is responsible for the administration and support of workers’ compensation issues for IPs. Work injuries can be reported by calling 1-866-214-9899, option 6 or emailing InfoSafety@ConsumerDirectCare.com.

Can I be an IP for my spouse?

No, the Client’s spouse typically cannot be an IP. Exceptions include being an IP for a chore services Client or Clients on the Veteran Directed Program. For more information, please review WAC 388-71-0540.

Can parents be an IP for their child who is a minor?

No. Natural, step, or adoptive parents cannot be IPs for their children who are under 18. For more information, please reviewWAC 388-71-0540.

I am a foster parent who provides personal care or skills acquisition training to a child residing in my licensed foster home. Can I be an IP?

How is live-in status determined? If my adult child lives in a separate building on my property, does that count?

Live-in status is determined by whether or not the IP lives at the same mailing address as their Client. IPs attest to their live-in status as part of the hiring process.

Can I get FMLA?

Yes, IPs may qualify for a leave of absence under the Family Medical Leave Act of 1993 (FMLA).

Where can I find my Cumulative Career Hours (CCH) balance?

On the DirectMyCare web portal.

Step 1: Sign in to your DirectMyCare web portal account.

Step 2: Click your name in the upper right-hand corner to go to your profile.

Step 3: The CCH balance is in the Basic Information section.

Where can I find my Paid Time Off (PTO) balance?

On the DirectMyCare web portal.

Step 1: Sign in to your DirectMyCare web portal account.

Step 2: Click your name in the upper right-hand corner.

Step 3: The PTO balance is in the Basic Information section.

Step 4: Click the PTO Details link next to the balance to see more information. This screen provides a little more information. Click the ledgers icon for accrual details.

Step 5: This screen provides accrual totals by date. Use the numbers on the bottom of the screen to navigate to see more or expand the number of lines you can see at one time.
